Open Comp
December 7 - December 8
Competitions are typically held on the first full weekend of each month (Eg. If the Friday is the 31st, the competition is held the following weekend).
The majority of competitions are “open”, where anglers can fish any public waterway within a 200km radius of the clubhouse.
In an open competition, fishing commences at 5pm on the Friday of an open competition and anglers must present to a weigh-in at the clubhouse by 5pm on the Sunday. This changes to 4pm during daylight savings times.
All cabins are free for members to use on competition weekends.
Some competitions are “closed” competitions, which are held at a specific location. Currently, there are 3 closed events in the LAC events calendar:
- Bunyip Competition – Dora Dora Cabin
- Mitta Mitta Comp – Mitta Mitta Cabin
- Blowering Dam Competition
There are several other events in the LAC calendar, including:
- Annual Mallacoota Trip
- Cabin working bees
- Bunnings BBQ’s
